JAMES LENGER
I like music and acting and inventing things.
Hello!
My Story
Team USA Pentathlon
In October of 2009, my mom passed away from an aggressive brain tumor. A couple years after that, I started training for the Modern Pentathlon as a personal therapy for this, as well as a way to honor her legacy. After a couple of years, I was able to start to represent the USA in the sport, which consists of running, shooting, fencing, swimming, and show jumping. I qualified at the World Cup level and competed in a number of international competitions for Team USA, including a World Championship in the Master's division for Tetrathlon.
Music, Comedy, and Inventing
I was fortunate to spend a number of years on tour with a former band, The Green Room. This included many venues, including the 2002 Winter Olympics. Following that, I opened a music school that focused primarily on adult learners. After starting this in Chicago, it has now branched out to New York, London, and Birmingham, UK.
Following this, I have graduated from the Second City Conservatory, and have performed in many shows, both scripted and improvised. Following a move to the Wilmington, NC area, I have been booked on a handful of shows, both serious and comedic.
Also, during Covid, I spent a lot of time working on inventing devices that will aid in persons with movement disorders and other disabilities. So far, 2 patents have been issued!
